Hellcats Make It To Finals In Park City
Date Posted: 12/20/09
The Hellcats won their first three games in the annual Goaldigger Tournament in Park City the weekend of December 11th-13th. Wins over the Park City Predators (4-1), Oakland Seals (2-0), and Jackson Hole (4-1) earned the Kitties a slot in the Finals against the same Oakland Seals team they beat in 'round-robin' play. In the Finals, the Seals scored with 3 minutes to go to take a 1-0 lead, then they tacked on an empty netter in the final seconds to beat the Hellcats 2-0. The Kitties had a great time on and off the ice, and are looking forward to returning to Park City next season. Huge thanks to Jim and Karen Moore who hosted the Hellcats the entire weekend!

scored her first ever hat-trick in the game. Other scorers were Lori Moore
(with her first two Hellcats goals), Molly Marquez (2), O'Dowd, and Tullos.

(1), Marquez (1), and Allison (1). The 3rd game resulted in a 4-3 loss to the Phoenix Scorpions. Marquez, O'Dowd, and Barber scored the

The Hellcats won their first ever

Tournament in Denver, CO.
The 'Kitties' beat the Oakland, CA Seals in their first game 2-0 (Laura Tullos
scored both goals). In the second game, the Hellcats beat the Denver Ice Monkeys
by the same score, 2-0 (Molly Marquez and Tig Moore scored, while Kandice Torno

against the Pueblo Little Caesars, which landed them in the semi-finals on
Sunday morning (Laura Tullos, Kristi Burk, Nadine Barber, Ayla Moore, and Tig
Moore scored - Tig had 2 goals). In the semi's the 'Kitties' beat the Denver
Rockies 2-0, as Torno earned her third shutout in 4 games (Beth O'Dowd and
Kristi Burk scored the goals). In the Finals the Hellcats beat the
Minnesota Renegades 4-1, scoring 4 unanswered goals in the game, after giving up
one a couple minutes into the game (the goals were scored by Ayla and Tig Moore

Defensemen, Marquez, Jess Hamill, Jen Allison, and Amy Foss where outstanding

first time a Durango area women's travel team has won a tournament with as many
as 12 teams competing in the same level.
